The Haverhill man scooped Britain's second biggest lottery win ever. Cambridgeshire Live has delved back into its archives to tell the story of the couple's ups and downs since their lives changed forever. Adrian, then 41, owned a music centre in Haverhill, while wife Gillian, then 40, worked on the children's ward in Addenbrooke's Hospital.

The couple were at home comforting their crying young son when they learned they had won the second biggest lottery jackpot in history on August 10, Speaking after their win was revealed to the world, Adrian described what he was like to discover you're a millionaire.

I was trying to tell her that we had won the lottery and she was telling me to keep the noise down. Gillian said: "Everyone was very surprised to hear from us so late at night and thought we were joking at first. It took us a while to make them believe us. We decided we weren't going to be needing our bed that night anyway. They were th in Britain's Rich List.

Gillian, who worked in ward D2 at Addenbrooke's, intended to leave the job.

The incredible life of £148 million EuroMillions lottery winner Adrian Bayford

Adrian co-owned the Suffolk Music Centre in Haverhill. This money has come at the right time for us and is going to benefit the whole family. A new dream home with a kitted out kitchen, and Audi Q7, a trip to the Canadian Rockies and Disney World were just some of ideas they considered. The couple also planned to take time to consider how else they would use the money to help others.

Gillian said: "Children's charities are close to our hearts so we will be exploring how we can use this money to help those charities but it is too soon to say exactly what. Some people have been shaking my hand to see if it rubs off. You might say lightning does not strike twice in the same place, but people seem to think it might.

As word of the big Bayford win got out, the couple found themselves inundated with mail asking for financial aid. Adrian stood smiling in the doorway of the shop, which was under the charge of his business partner Richard Hudspith, with friends and passers-by stopping to shake his hand and congratulate him. We have had a lot of media attention up in Scotland, but hopefully it will die down a bit now.

There have even been people coming over from France and Germany to deliver letters in person. We have some ideas of people we would like to help, but we have not made any decisions yet.

Savannah Jachlin, 18, a waitress in a local coffee shop said she did not want to see another empty shop in the town. The then year-old was investing in the state-of-the-art facility as a new venture with business partner and best pal Richard Hudspith.

She said she wanted to do things for her children, Aimee and Cameron, so she bought the Cheeky Chimps children's play barn in Haverhill. The play barn has previously gone out of business, leaving many parents who had bought season tickets disappointed. So Gillian said she felt the time was right to splash the cash and provide a fairy tale ending to an amazing story. Gillian also revealed how she was still being inundated with letters asking her for money and that she read every single one that came through her door.

It takes a lot of guts just to ask somebody for money, to just to come out and say it. Gillian said the real reason the music shop had closed its doors was because people were camping out there every day and it had become very difficult. It highlights who your friends are, the people who are behind you through thick and thin. It had a large play area downstairs with a slide and monkey bars and a room upstairs for the children to have tea.

Who knows what first attracted the jobbing stable girl to the lottery squillionaire? From the moment they first clapped eyes on each other across the saloon bar of The Cock Inn, it appeared to be love at first sight for Samantha Burbidge pictured and Adrian Bayford.

So far, so Cinderella. But this week it emerged that three years into their engagement, year-old Sammy has ditched her year-old uber-wealthy fiance and trotted off with a penniless former boyfriend.

More in a moment of equine-mad Samantha and the bankrupt Essex car sprayer who has stolen her heart. While, after a couple of months as a single man, Adrian, who runs a film and music memorabilia store in Cambridge, also appeared to have hit the romantic jackpot when he embarked on a relationship with super-fit Samantha.

In the months that followed, he lavished her with gifts including expensive perfumes, designer riding gear, clothes and shoes, not to mention two engagement rings.

So what on earth could have gone wrong? The pair were said to have spent increasing amounts of time apart, with Samantha making frequent trips away to horse shows and competitions, while Adrian travelled alone to visit his two children in Scotland. She went back to Adrian just before Christmas and then, a couple of weeks ago, decided to leave again.

All of it. According to the relative, Mr Suckling has recently been living with his parents in Romford and has no property of his own. But looking back, there were signs, even then, that things were rather more complicated than their whirlwind romance suggested. Not long after they announced their engagement, another woman revealed that Adrian had also proposed to her — just two days before asking Samantha to marry him.

Famous person with 4 letter first name and 6 letter last name

Samantha's departure is the latest in a series of misfortunes to befall both Adrian and his former wife, Gillian. Marta Jarosz, a trained bodyguard and martial arts expert from Poland, met Adrian while she was working on the door at his local pub in Decembera month after his split from wife Gillian.

After telling Ms Jarosz about his lottery win, he offered her a job and in January employed her as his bodyguard, personal assistant and, because he cannot drive, his chauffeur. If Samantha was indeed second choice for the trip, she did not seem to mind, for as soon as she arrived back from her luxury holiday, she posted several happy photographs of herself online, standing on a sandy beach and posing in a bikini on the prow of a chartered boat — although none with Adrian.

But, says the friend who spoke to the Mail, the pair had little in common and were soon spending increasing amounts of time apart, with Samantha travelling around the UK and abroad to Spain, Ireland and Australia for showjumping competitions and to buy horses. Neighbours in Haverhill, Suffolk, say the year-old is now being mocked and goaded in the street. She said their eight-year marriage had broken down "irretrievably", and moved to Scotland with their two children.

The Sun says since then, Mr Bayford has been left heartbroken by several other women, including a waitress who is said to have ended things during a holiday. Mr Bayford, who has been pictured recently eating pasties and drinking, enjoyed plentiful holidays with lovers and friends before and shortly after his windfall. But this is said to have changed. He's allegedly fallen out with friends and feels harangued by the residents of the 38 houses he rents out, The Sun says.
